Ask HN: Where do you like to consume content anymore?
everything is the same regurgitated garbage i can get anywhere or from an llm myself. what are you reading/watching/following when it comes to programming or tech in general?
I watch YouTube videos on FreeTube, SmartTube, and PipePipe, from my computer, TV, and phone, respectively. Really, I use PipePipe on my phone for podcasts, and the computer and phone for video. I subscribe to over 400 channels (locally, not through a Google account) and use a chronological feed, so I just see what I'm interested in. Both video and podcasts are a mix of educational, edutainment, entertainment, and news.
I also borrow audiobooks from Libby, using accounts from a few local libraries.
I listen to everything at an average of at least double speed, usually while working around the house or driving, but also while designing and prototyping electronics, except during component selection, because it requires a bit of reading and a lot of math, which is difficult to do while listening to a narrative. On weekdays, it amounts to listening for ten to twelve hours a day, so I often listen to 24 hours worth of content in a day, including several hours of audio from YouTube per day, and a few hundred audiobooks a year.
I read text from Hacker News, Slashdot, Hackaday, The Aviation Herald, and Reason magazine, usually early in the morning or late in the evening, when I'm more tired.

nice i’ve been using a program i built to listen to ytmusic for free from the terminal without a sub. i find so many channels now are just long form ads or the same 5 takes on “the new thing.” would be interested in what you found though in terms of channels. i do find this one dude, “saveitforparts,” entertaining.
I use an android app, Devbytes and I signed up for some monthly or daily email newsletter about whatever is going on with AI or software engineering in general. They really help filter the noise
I don't consume content. If somebody calls themselves a content creator, I write them off as being unworthy of my time. If a writer doesn't believe in themselves enough to call themselves a writer, then why should I read them?
As far as I'm concerned, content creation is merely a euphemism for defecation. Everybody creates content; just do it in private and wash your hands afterward.
